Culture differences are interesting and such a sensitive subjects and often cause arguments especially when the subjects have been taken out of context. However it can be beautiful to see how conversations could grow organically from information presented. Also interesting to see how we can learn so much in culture from something as little as a piece of paper.

Small Talk Generator is a fully working coin-operated machine. Once 20p coin is inserted, the machine will print out a handy slip contains the most shared articles on the social networks at that time, from both side of the ocean. Some topics/news may seems totally absurd, especially when compare to another country. The machine and it’s makers want to encourage conversation between the customers.

SmallTalk Generator has been selected as part of Bournemouth Thai Arts Festival 2015 and will be ready for people at Bournemouth Pier Approach and Waterfront Space from 11th-17th July 2015.

This is a collaboration between Kanittha Mairaing and Nitipak Samsen.
